Emily Angwin - Senior Associate

Emily initially worked with the firm from 2012 – 2014.  Following a period of living interstate working in claims management and return to work, Emily returned to Rankin Ellison in 2016.

 

Emily has extensive experience working with employers, insurers and individuals on standard and complex statutory insurance claims and litigation, including workers compensation, coal mines insurance and recoveries. She has worked in a number of jurisdictions, including the Workers Compensation Commission, the Local, District, Supreme and High Courts and Court of Appeal. Her diverse experience in insurance litigation, for both the Applicant and the Respondent, includes success at the appellate level in the Workers Compensation Commission and Court of Appeal.

 

Emily specialises in advising on complex litigated and non-litigated matters to provide clients with strategies to effectively manage all aspects of claims.  Emily’s previous experience in claims management and return to work in a mining industry has provided her with a strong background in understanding claims management for all stakeholders and ensures that she achieves the best possible outcomes for insurers and employers alike. She prides herself on understanding her clients' needs. As a result, she is able to provide timely, relevant and strategic advice to suit the individual requirements of her clients. Emily also regularly provides training and presentations to various clients regarding case law and legislative requirements, tailored to suit their needs.
