Kate works in the area of Statutory Workers Compensation and has experience advising insurers and employers on all aspects of claims management, liability and dispute resolution.
Kate initially worked with Rankin Ellison from 2004 to 2011. Following a period of living in North West NSW, she returned to the firm in 2019.
Kate has acted on behalf of scheme agents for both icare and SICorp, as well as self-insured corporations. Her breadth of experience includes providing legal advice and representation with respect to physical and psychological injuries, lump sum claims, medical disputes and weekly compensation claims. Kate also has significant expertise in injury management disputes and providing advice to employers with respect to their obligations under the Workers Compensation legislation.
Kate specialises in managing standard and complex litigated and non-litigated matters focusing on achieving commercially sound and timely resolutions on behalf of her clients. She regularly appears as an advocate in the Workers Compensation Commission and has experience at the appellant level.
