Emily Scott
Senior Associate
Emily commenced employment with Rankin Ellison Lawyers in April 2019 as a Law Clerk.
She completed a Bachelor of Laws/Diploma of Legal Practice in December 2019, achieving First Class Honours. She was admitted to the NSW Supreme Court in February 2020 and she has since worked in the Insurance Division of the firm.
Emily is primarily engaged in workers compensation matters. She has experience with a range of different types of claims made by both exempt and non-exempt workers, including death claims, lump sum claims, claims for weekly benefits and medical expenses, industrial deafness claims and claims for consequential injuries. She is confident working on matters involving injuries which occurred both before and after the 2002 legislative amendments. Emily has also prepared submissions in appeals against the decisions of Medical Assessors and Members.
Emily regularly represents clients in the Personal Injury Commission, appearing at Teleconferences and instructing Counsel during Conciliation/Arbitration hearings. She also has experience in Court practice, appearing before the District and Supreme Courts of NSW.
