With a legal career spanning well over a decade, Mary-Jean has an enviable record for delivering outstanding results for clients across the spectrum of personal injury matters.
Mary-Jean joined Rankin Ellison Lawyers as Special Counsel in April 2025, relocating to the Hunter region from the NSW South Coast, where she founded and led a boutique practice with a strong focus on personal injury claims, including public liability, motor vehicle accidents, TPD, medical negligence, and workers compensation matters. Mary-Jean also oversaw matters in other areas of law such as conveyancing, estates, family law, and civil litigation, showcasing her versatility and strategic leadership across legal disciplines.
Mary-Jean has held Specialist Accreditation in Personal Injury Law since 2020, and as a longstanding legal writer with a leading legal publisher, she has literally written the book on personal injury, authoring practical guidance, commentary and analysis of case law developments, legislation and procedure for legal practitioners across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.
At Rankin Ellison Lawyers, Mary-Jean acts for clients at all stages of workers compensation matters, including statutory compensation claims, work injury damages, and Section 151Z recovery matters. Her expertise, pragmatism and tenacious approach resonates with clients and colleagues alike.
